Outdoor Elements Celebrates 15 Years At Pump House Dean Wood

Outdoor Elements marks 15 Years of Adventure at their Outdoor Activity Centre in Simonstone

Outdoor Elements, a creative outdoor activity and team-building centre is proud to celebrate a major milestone — 15 years of delivering unforgettable experiences for schools, businesses, community groups, and families at their woodland site.

Established in 2001, Outdoor Elements grew to the point where it needed somewhere to call home. On 7th May 2011, the gates were opened to their centre at Simonstone. The centre has grown from a bold idea into one of Lancashire’s most trusted providers for team building, outdoor learning, and private party adventures and has welcomed thousands of visitors each year from across the county and beyond.

Early Support from Rosebud Helped Launch the Vision

Outdoor Elements credits part of its long-term success to the early backing of Rosebud, Lancashire County Council’s investment fund, which supported the centre during its initial set-up phase. Managing Director Jim Bowden said: “Rosebud’s backing was instrumental in helping us get started. Fifteen years on, we’re proud to have built a sustainable business that contributes to the local economy and supports schools, workplaces and community groups across the county.”

A Decade and a Half of Community Impact

Over the past 15 years, Outdoor Elements has delivered thousands of sessions for:

• Primary and secondary schools across Lancashire
• Corporate teams seeking development, wellbeing and leadership experiences
• Community groups, charities and youth organisations
• Private parties and family groups

The centre’s woodland setting and purpose-built activity facilities have become a go-to destination for organisations looking to build confidence, teamwork and resilience.

Celebrating the People Who Make It All Happen

This anniversary is also a moment to recognise the thousands of people who have shaped Outdoor Elements over the past 15 years:

• Our customers — from schoolchildren taking their first leap of faith to corporate groups tackling team tasks together — thank you for choosing us, trusting us, and returning year after year.
• Our instructors, past and present — your passion, professionalism, and energy have created the safe, supportive, and fun environment Outdoor Elements is known for. You’ve inspired confidence, sparked curiosity, and helped people discover what they’re capable of.

Looking Ahead

Outdoor Elements continues to invest in its facilities and programmes and remains committed to delivering high-quality outdoor experiences. “Fifteen years is a proud milestone, but we’re far from finished. We’re excited for the next chapter and the opportunity to keep supporting Lancashire’s communities, workplaces and young people.”
