Fire Lighting

Fire Lighting Outdoor Activity Session at Outdoor Elements

Description

What is Fire Lighting?

This activity is so much more than simple fire lighting. Discover the ancestral early human within yourself and learn all about this essential skill. The session includes learning the science behind fire and how it works to give you the best chance of lighting your own fire. Using limited equipment, along with fuel foraged from the surrounding woodland, the group will work together to start their fire. Our instructors will guide the team in how to safely and effectively use flint and steel to create the spark required to light their fire. The sense of achievement when the fire bursts into flame is awesome. Once the fire is lit the participants can then benefit by cooking a tasty treat over the flames.

We offer toasted marshmallows as part of our outdoor activity birthday party packages, and bannock bread is used in our outdoor education visits and team building programmes.

This outdoor activity can be pitched to a broad range of ages and is one of the most popular activities at Outdoor Elements.
